60th Anniversary Alumni Community Orchestra

To celebrate 60 incredible years of QYO, we’re inviting our alumni to be part of something truly special; the QYO Alumni Community Orchestra.

This project is all about reconnecting; with music, with old friends, and with the shared experiences that made your time at QYO so memorable. Whether you’ve played recently or it’s been years since you last opened your case, this is a welcoming, relaxed opportunity to come together and make music again.

There are no auditions! Just a shared love of playing. Places will be offered until the orchestra is full, so we encourage you to register your interest early.

Join the Queensland Youth Symphony in the beautiful Queensland Parliament House Speaker's Green. This group of highly advanced young musicians will fill Parliament with some fun and familiar music under the baton of renowned conductor Simon Hewett. Enjoy light refreshments on the lawn while you hear medleys from Jurassic Park and Star Wars, as well as the last movement of Dvořák's famous New World Symphony.
