WIND SYMPHONY

Wind Symphony (WS) plays the most challenging repertoire written for symphonic wind band. Conductor Prof. Rob McWilliams is literally a teacher of teachers - he regularly leads workshops for other ensemble conductors looking to further develop their skills. WS is a great place to meet other young musicians and learn advanced performance skills from one of Australia’s most respected ensemble conductors.

WS CONDUCTOR

  • In music – a jazz musician / jazz educator

Outside of music – a film maker, editor, etc.

  • I really enjoy playing table tennis and was reasonably good when I was playing regularly (also a long time ago!)

  • Someone who shows up every time, is prepared on their own part, listens louder than they play, and works collaboratively with everybody else to make the music-making special!

  • Playing Percy Grainger’s Lincolnshire Posy as it’s one of the true masterworks in the wind band idiom and the group did an awesome job  with the performance of it!

  • Whatever my car CD player has cued up at the time!
