Queensland Youth Orchestras 2 & Academy of Queensland Ballet

  • The Old Museum Concert Hall , 480 Gregory Terrace Bowen Hills, QLD, 4006 Australia (map)

Join Queensland Youth Orchestras and the Academy of Queensland Ballet for a luminous celebration of ballet and live orchestral music.

Inspired by the Norwegian heritage of composer Edvard Grieg, Nature’s Gathering draws on a rich world of mythological gods and goddesses. “In our ever fast-paced digital world, the elements embodied by these gods and goddesses, that of Nature, Sea, Sun, Peace and the Night Sky and Moon, may be what we find ourselves longing for in today’s modern society” – Paul Boyd, Academy Ballet Master and Resident Choreographer.

Originally created for the Academy’s 2025 Gala season, this evocative ballet is brought to life by dancers from the Academy of Queensland Ballet’s Clark Pre-Professional Program, performing alongside the exceptional young musicians of QYO2 under the baton of conductor David Deacon.

Experience an unforgettable performance where exquisite movement meets the power of live orchestral music. Don’t miss this special collaboration between two of Queensland’s leading youth arts organisations.
